DBA job duties - Most Weblogic staff have at least five years of full-time progressive database experience, and they sometimes have Oracle certifications such as OCP and OCM. The Oracle middleware DBA must also have a good understanding of related technologies, especially Java (JDeveloper, J2EE, Apache).
Business Duties - Most successful Weblogic administrators have advanced college degrees. A minimum of a bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration or Computer Science is required, masters degree preferred.
Communications Duties - Oracle Weblogic administrators must interface with DBA, SYS administrators the end-user community and they must have college-level communications skills, being able to communicate clearly, both orally and with written communications.
Minimum Qualifications
- Primary skills/experience required: Oracle Weblogic administration, J2EE development, BI Publisher, Oracle, Linux, Perl scripting.
- Focus on skills in Weblogic, Linux and scripting:
- Nice to have skills/experience: Korn shell scripting,Oracle Network Mgmt System, Gas/Electric Utility Domain knowledge/experience.
